Position Details and Eligibility Criteria
Member Tax – BPS-20 or Equivalent
- Number of Vacancies: 01
- Minimum Qualification: Master’s degree or equivalent 18 years of education.
- Relevant Fields: Finance, Economics, Taxation, Law, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
- Recognized Institution: Degree must be from a university or institution recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
- Professional Experience: At least 20 years of post-qualification professional experience in the public or private sector.
- Senior-Level Experience: At least 7 years of senior-level experience in tax policy, tax administration, revenue management, fiscal policy, fiscal law, or financial management.
- Age Limit: Minimum 40 years and maximum 60 years on the closing date.
Nature of Appointment and Salary Package
The position is a stand-alone, non-cadre contractual post reporting directly to the Senior Member, Board of Revenue, Balochistan.
- Initial appointment will be for three years.
- The contract may be extended for another term of the same duration, subject to satisfactory performance, recommendation of the Selection Committee, and approval of the Chief Minister.
- The first six months will be treated as a performance review period.
- The selected candidate will receive a competitive lump-sum market-based salary package according to qualifications and experience, or a Special Professional Pay Scale / Management Pay Scale approved by the Chief Minister.
Key Responsibilities of Member Tax
The selected professional will be responsible for policy, administration, and oversight of revenue collection under the general supervision of the Senior Member, Board of Revenue. Major areas include:
- Taxes on land and agricultural income.
- Stamp duties and court fees.
- Registration fees and taxes on the transfer of property.
- Capital Value Tax (CVT) on immovable property.
- Other taxes and levies administered by the Board of Revenue.
Integrity and Professional Requirements
- Applicants must have a sound record of integrity.
- Candidates must not have a conviction for a criminal offence involving moral turpitude.
- There must be no adverse finding against the applicant by a court, tribunal, regulatory authority, or departmental proceeding.
